How many of you remember Stuart Membery?

In 1984 my favourite top was a Stuart Membery. It was a superb oversized loose fitting jumper with some abstract design on the front.

I also had some baggy orange pants with patches. The envy of all of my friends - designer clothes at 15 years.

Stuart's Membery's last collection seems of been released in 1997 after a 6 year break.

The photo below was taken in 1984 when I was leaving for a Student exchange program in the US - hence the Aussie swagman's hat and my best friend Tracey.

I am on the left wearing the Stuart Membery top! How I loved this top - I wore it all the time! I wish I had of kept it! I still go through the process and clean the wardrobe out every season - I wonder if that is really such a good idea when you throw out priceless pieces that are essentially symbols of an entire era!

I ws Stuart Membry's house-keeper back in the 1980's. Fun times was when he allowed me to wear clothes straight from the factory before they hit the stores.

My sister and I had the most amazing Stuart Membrey shorts. It was 1985. Totally cutting edge and totally cool. I'll never forget those summer days....16 years old and free!!!

Hi,
I have a Jacket from Christmas 1984. My Girlfriend Penny bought it for me. I'm wearing it tonight to an 80's party. It is a double breasted canvas jacket in two tone blue vertical stripes. I've always loved it. It is the only piece I have left.

I still have two Stuart Membrey pieces from 1987. I have never been able to throw them out. Am now delighted to find them fashionable once more and to be wearing them again... 23 years later! Who ever would have thought.....
