1980's Band Crash Politics - not only the soundtrack to my late teens early 20's but also my friends.
I spent half my youth following this band around Sydney. My best friend Melissa dragged me along to some seedy pub in Kings Cross, I think it was called the "Persian Room" or the "Manzil Room" one of the two. Dark and dangerous, just where all Mum's and Dad's hope to see their 17 year old daughter spending her Saturday. I went along to please a friend. Little did I know that one night would change the rest of my life and the band would become my friends and take me on a wild journey of love, laughter and loss.
I can't remember any dates of any albums - even thought I was there for most of it. The band was made up of Stuart Paton (vocals, guitar), Andrew Storer (bass), Michael Wood (guitar, keyboards, vocals), Andrew Reefman (drums, vocals). Andrew Storer was later replaced by Ross Farnell. Stuart Paton committed suicide in the early 1990's.
