As a busy working Mum holidays are really important not only for my sanity but also for the family to spend quality time together. So where should we go?
Season7 is looking to collate a list of the best family holiday experiences both within Australia and Internationally and we invite you to share you holiday experiences with us.
November 2009 we were invited to a friends wedding in Vanuatu with a group of friends and we all had an absolute ball. After years and years of skipping holidays while I worked away at my business and family I am now converted to taking regular breaks! The whole world didn't stop without me and in fact the 7 days went by so fast I am not even sure if I was missed in the office. So with new enthusiasm I am looking to where I can holiday with my 12 year and 2 year old this year.
Vanuatu was really lovely we stayed at Le Lagon and it was great for everyone, husbands played golf and drank at the pool bar, kids hang up with a group of locals in the kids club, little baby exhausted herself in the pool and we all slept like babies at night. Vanuatu was pretty, and simple and great for "break" style holiday. I even read a book. The food, whilst not 5 star and a little slow in the coming was enjoyable. It was also fun to share with a group of friends.
We are considering Hamilton Island in 2010 - as we are wanting to experience easy travelling - with only 7 days break not keen on spending too many hours on a plane (I hate flying) or hanging around airports. We are keen for a resort style environment with activities for a 12 year and a 2 year old. I know big gap but that is how it is. Also want to relax, no cooking, cleaning, and would love there to be a day spa that doesn't cost a bomb to treat myself to a little well overdue TLC.
Would love to hear any feedback on families travelling to Hamilton or Whitsundays. All suggestions welcome! And If I don't do it this year ... there is always next!
Holidays here I come! : )

1. Roughly a 2 hour flight from Sydney
2. Golf course
3. Island limits visitors to approx 400
4. Next to no cars, only push bikes allowed
5. Pristine beaches, BBQ & Picnic areas
6. Price range caters for all budgets.
7. Food was fresh and delicious
8. Fabulous walks
etc etc etc

We've been to both with our 3 children and had a ball. Dunk possibly has the edge of Daydream for the older children and Daydream is probably better for the young ones but both had something for everyone at a reasonable price!
